Client brief

Located in a unique heritage building, the client, who is deeply passionate about design and architecture, wanted a bathroom that honoured the property’s special character. The vision was for a "striking" modern aesthetic characterised by clean lines, a sophisticated industrial feel, and a bold departure from standard residential designs. The goal was to create something unique that balanced raw textures with intentional pops of colour.

The process

The design process embraced the building's industrial roots while introducing contemporary warmth. To achieve the "striking" look the client desired, our designer focused on a "monolithic" approach to tiling, using consistent textures to create a seamless, architectural backdrop. We then used the vanity units and hardware as the primary "design drivers," layering in custom colours and specialised finishes to ensure the space felt personal and curated rather than purely industrial.

What we did

Industrial Materiality: Specified cement-style porcelain tiles from our European Tiles selection for the floors and walls, creating a clean, architectural canvas that nods to the building's history.

Bold Colour Specification: Chosen an olive green finish for the Faeber wall-hung vanity units, providing a unique and trendy "pop" that is mirrored in the client’s soft furnishings.

Streamlined Storage: Integrated a HIB Vanquish recessed mirrored cabinet and custom shower niches to keep the clean lines of the room unobstructed by clutter.

Wall-Hung Configuration: Utilised wall-hung Faeber units to maintain visible floor space, emphasising the minimalist "floating" aesthetic requested in the brief.

Unique Hardware Curation: Selected a specific brassware suite that provides a sharp, high-contrast finish against the cement tones, ensuring a truly bespoke look and feel.
